North Providence House Fire

Today there was a house fire, of some sort, in North Providence. The location was right outside of the back of Rhode Island College on Fruit Hill Ave. I arrived late on the scene so I did not observe any victims, although there may have been some. There was an abundance of fire trucks and emergency vehicles on the scene. Probably at least a dozen or more EMS vehicles, I will provide an update shortly so check back often.

This is my house. I don’t like how people can take another person’s suffering and turn it into entertainment and even make some money off of it. I am sure that if it was your house you would not appreciate someone taking pictures of it and posting them on a website.
I am sorry you feel that way. However, I do not believe these photos show you directly suffering; rather I believe they show the great job that the firefighters did in saving what they could of your house. If there had been pictures of you injured or dying that would be different; this was a piece of property, which can be replaced. Understandably, it may have held sentimental value to you and you likely have lost many memories, but it is nonetheless replaceable. If anyone was killed or injured in this fire I do extend my sincerest sympathies to you.
Further, this is not intended as entertainment; it is simply news, and I have not sensationalize it. Moreover, it certainly has not been financially profitable. The advertising you see here does not even cover my costs. Since, I am not a large news source I hold very little sway and money; as is attested to by the fact that you have not found my website until now. Nonetheless, I would still be willing to tell your story and to ask for people to send you support, and to do whatever else I can to help you.
Ok, I can see your point of view. I also agree 110% that the firefighters did an excellent job of saving what they could of the home, they even saved my cat.
I may have reacted a bit strongly to the pictures being posted here, there a quite a few and they are quite painful to look at. It’s like I am reliving that day over again.
If you have seen the house lately, you would see that it is still under construction, not anywhere near where we thought we’d be at this point in time. This has caused a lot of frustration on our part and the Fruit Hill Neighborhood Association as well. Recently we were informed that our home (or what’s left of it) is causing quite a bit of complaints from them. This is hard for us to hear since we are doing our best to have the house completed and have had our share of obstacles along the way.
I appreciate your concern and also wanted to add that while there were thankfully no deaths due to the fire, there was a minor injury to our tenant that was living on the second floor. She was discharged from the hospital after treatment on the same day. Her story was actually the only one that was told, in the North Providence Breeze. No mention of myself or my family even though we were also left homeless by the fire.
While it was difficult to see these pictures, the most difficult thing right now is just wanting to be back home and knowing that is not in the near future. As well as knowing our house is the source of so much anger and uproar coming from the neighborhood we used to call home.
